# Build and run your stream with your team Your moderators can help with more than chat. In a shared aq.chat workspace, they can create and revise overlays in Studio, then use Qontrol panels to manage them while you stream. Invite your teammates once and work from the same scenes and controls, with each person signed in to their own account. By aq.chat · Updated 2026-09-24 Source: https://aq.chat/guides/shared-workspace ## Before you start - The workspace owner needs Pro to invite collaborators. - Each teammate needs an aq.chat account. Use the email address associated with that account for their invitation. ## Bring your teammates into the workspace Invite people you trust to work on your stream. Workspace membership includes access to shared scenes and panels, including editing overlays in Studio. Twitch moderator status alone does not grant aq.chat workspace access. 1. **Send an invitation:** As the workspace owner, select your avatar, then Workspace. Under Invite a collaborator, enter the email address on your teammate’s aq.chat account and select Invite. If they do not have an account yet, have them create one first. 2. **Your teammate accepts:** They sign in to their own account, open Workspace from their account settings, and select Accept under Invitations. This switches them into your workspace, where they can access the shared scenes and panels. ## Work on your overlays together Once they have joined, your teammates can open Studio in your workspace to create a scene or revise an existing one. A moderator could prepare graphics for your next stream, improve a layout, update an alert, or add controls you need during a show. They describe the change to aq just as you would. For everyday changes, use the controls already built into the overlay. A panel can expose text fields, colors, scores, or other settings you want to adjust. You can also ask aq to make the scene preview editable so you and your teammates can change those parts directly without another prompt. Ask for an AI revision when you need a new design, behavior, or control. AI revisions use generation credits; using existing controls does not. Review changes in the scene preview and try the controls beneath it. You are working on the same scene, so revisions keep its existing Scene link. If that scene is already on air, coordinate changes with whoever is streaming because they can affect the live overlay. [Creating and refining an overlay in Studio](https://aq.chat/guides/stream-overlay#preview) ## Open the controls in the shared workspace A teammate running the show can keep a Qontrol panel open on their own desktop or phone. The panel is generated with the scene and appears beneath its preview in Studio. Ask aq to tailor it to the jobs you want to hand off, such as changing an on-screen label, triggering an alert, or updating a score. Include ways to correct mistakes, such as an undo button or a confirmation before resetting something. Each teammate signs in to their own aq.chat account, selects the shared workspace in Workspace, and opens the scene in Studio. They select Panel in the bar between the preview and controls to copy the Panel link themselves, just as the broadcaster or workspace owner does. The arrow beside Panel opens the standalone panel page. To use the panel on another device, they sign in there with their own account, select the same workspace, and open the link they copied. They can also use the controls directly beneath the Studio preview. The Panel link opens the controls. The private Scene link goes into your broadcasting software to display the overlay. Keep Scene links out of public posts and off the broadcast itself. Before handing over the controls, have your teammate try them from their own device while you watch the preview. Check that changes reach the overlay and that they can undo or correct an accidental action. If a control is confusing or missing, ask aq to revise the panel. [More about Qontrol panels](https://aq.chat/guides/qontrol) ## Run the stream together With the scene’s private Scene link installed in OBS, Streamlabs, or Meld, your teammate can operate the panel while you focus on the stream. Updates made through the overlay’s controls appear in the deployed scene. Agree on who is handling which controls, and try an update while watching the result in your broadcasting app before going live. Controlling an aq.chat overlay works without an extra connection to your broadcasting app. If you also want your teammate to switch the app’s scenes, adjust its audio, or operate other app controls, connect that broadcasting device to aq and enable remote control. Keep an aq.chat browser source running in the app, including after scene changes. The Qontrol guide covers this additional setup. Live Scene links, commands to broadcasting software, and Twitch actions require an active trial or subscription. If live access ends, workspace members can still use Studio previews, panels, and simulated events. If a teammate cannot open a shared panel, check that they are signed in to the account that accepted the workspace invitation.
