Features
What kind of overlays can I make?
Anything you can describe. Chat themes, donation alerts, subscriber counters, recent-followers tickers, raid alerts, scoreboards, countdown timers. Tell the AI what you want and it'll build it.
Can viewers interact with the overlays?
Yes. Overlays react to live stream events: follows, subs, donations, chat messages, raids, gift subs, and more. They display real-time data and animate on events for interactive viewer moments.
Can I use my own assets?
Yes. Upload or paste your assets and the AI will incorporate them into the overlay.
Which streaming platforms are supported?
Twitch, YouTube, and Kick. Pick any at sign-up. Overlays render in OBS as plain browser sources, so they look the same regardless of which platform you stream to.
Billing & Credits
How does upgrading or downgrading work?
Upgrades and downgrades are instant. If you've used more than you've paid for, we subtract the difference from your new credits or refund. If you've used less, you keep the remaining credits.
How do credits work?
Credits are what you spend to generate overlays with AI. Every user gets 600 free credits per month. Paid plans add monthly credits, and you can buy top-ups. Once an overlay is built, you can deploy it live during your 2-week trial or with a paid plan.
In what order are credits used?
- Free credits (600/month)
- Monthly plan credits
- Rollover credits (from the previous billing cycle)
- Top-up credits
Free credits always go first; rollover and top-up credits act as a backup pool.
Do unused credits roll over?
Yes. Monthly plan credits roll over for one additional billing cycle. Rollover credits are used after your current plan's credits. Free monthly credits do not roll over.
Can I sign up for a trial?
New users get 2 weeks of full access to deploy overlays live. After the trial, you'll need a paid plan to keep streaming overlays, but you can always design and preview overlays with free credits. Cancel a paid plan and we refund the unused portion.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Cancel anytime. Refunds are calculated from credits consumed and time remaining on your billing period, then processed back to your original payment method (a couple of days to clear).
Technical & Support
Does aq.chat run in my browser, or do I need to install something?
Entirely in the browser. No downloads, no installs. Visit the site, build your overlays, paste the URLs into your streaming software as web sources.
How do overlays integrate with my streaming setup?
They work as web sources in OBS, Streamlabs, and other streaming software. Each generated overlay has its own URL. Copy it and paste it into your broadcasting software.

Will it slow down my stream?
It can. aq.chat itself is written in Rust front-to-back, but the AI can generate inefficient code. If you notice performance issues, ask the AI to make it faster.
Why doesn't my overlay look the way I want?
AI-generated overlays vary in quality. Re-running the same prompt or refining it with specific colors, style, or layout details usually gets you closer. The more specific you are, the better the result.
Where can I get help if something breaks?
If your overlay is buggy, describe the issue to the AI and iterate with it. For other problems, the Discord community is the fastest place to get a real human answer.
