Supported integrations and live-access requirements
Use aq.chat to display overlays in your broadcasting app, react to events from connected platforms, and build controls for your stream. Each integration supports different tasks. OBS and Streamlabs can also receive scenes installed by aq, while Meld can use an existing Browser layer. The reference below covers the available controls, event sources, and access requirements.
A quick check
Before you start
- An aq.chat workspace. Public guides and examples do not require sign-in.
- Sign in as a workspace member to use Studio previews and panels.
Which broadcasting apps work with aq.chat?
Add a private Scene link to display an overlay. To let aq or a Qontrol panel operate the broadcasting app itself, complete remote-control setup for that device in Devices and keep an aq.chat browser source running. These commands require an active trial or subscription.
aq’s broadcasting-app controls do not include starting or stopping a broadcast or recording.
What you can display, install, and control in each broadcasting app.

| App | Display a scene | What aq and Qontrol can do |
|---|---|---|
| OBS Studio | Scene link in a Browser Source | Create and switch scenes; install browser sources; change their URL and dimensions; show, hide, position, scale, or rotate sources; mute audio and adjust volume. |
| Streamlabs Desktop | Scene link in a Browser Source | Create and switch scenes; install browser sources; change their URL and dimensions; show, hide, position, scale, or rotate scene items; mute audio and adjust volume. |
| Meld Studio | Scene link in a Browser layer | Switch or stage scenes; show or hide layers; toggle effects; mute audio and adjust gain; update existing layer properties, including a Browser layer’s URL. Create new scenes and Browser layers in Meld itself. |
| Other compatible web-source apps | Load the Scene link where the app supports a compatible web source; check the result in that app. | No aq remote-control integration. Remote control is available for OBS, Streamlabs, and Meld. |
Which stream events can scenes use?
Select your avatar, then Connections, to connect Twitch, YouTube, Kick, StreamElements, or Realtime IRL (RTIRL). Describe the event and the reaction you want aq to build, such as an alert for a new member or a map that follows your IRL stream. Loading a Browser Source displays the scene; connect the relevant account to supply real events.
Supported event families. Delivery depends on the connected account, its permissions, and the events the service provides.

| Source | Events and live data | Connection and limits |
|---|---|---|
| Twitch | Chat, follows, subscriptions and gifts, raids, cheers, Channel Points redemptions, polls, predictions, Hype Trains, goals, charity events, and stream online/offline events. | Connect Twitch and grant the permissions needed for the event. Channel features such as subscriptions and Channel Points must be available on that account. |
| YouTube | Live chat, new memberships, member milestones, gifted memberships, Super Chats, Super Stickers, live-chat polls, and gifts. | Connect the YouTube channel. Events come from its available live chat. Ordinary new-subscriber alerts are not part of aq’s native YouTube event connection. |
| Kick | Chat, follows, new and renewed subscriptions, gifted subscriptions, Kicks, reward redemption updates, livestream status and metadata changes, and bans. | Connect Kick and authorize event access. The scene must use the event types you want it to react to. |
| StreamElements | Tips, follows, subscriptions, cheers, raids, community gifts, merchandise purchases, charity donations, loyalty redemptions, song-request activity, contests, and stream status. | Connect using your StreamElements Overlay Token. Event availability depends on the connected channel and the token’s permissions. |
| RTIRL | Latitude and longitude, plus speed, heading, altitude, step count, and timestamps when the feed provides them. | Connect using your RTIRL pull key. Keep your tracking device sending updates; optional data depends on what it reports. |
Can panels read platform data or run actions?
Twitch and Kick also support reading platform data for your scenes and panels. Twitch includes channel information, followers, subscriptions, goals, polls, and predictions, subject to account permissions. Kick includes channel and livestream information, categories, rewards, and reward redemptions.
For actions on Twitch, Qontrol panels can create and end polls and predictions, and start or cancel raids. These actions require a signed-in workspace member, the connected broadcaster’s permissions, and an active trial or subscription. A deployed overlay’s Scene link does not authorize Twitch actions.
Kick, YouTube, StreamElements, and RTIRL connections do not provide equivalent platform actions through aq. Receiving an event, such as a chat message, does not mean a panel can send chat messages through that service.
Which link should I use?
A Studio preview URL is not a replacement for a Scene link in your streaming app. A Panel link does not grant workspace membership.
Scene links are for broadcasting; Panel links are for signed-in operators.
Swipe the table to see every column →
| Link or view | Use it for | Access |
|---|---|---|
| Scene link | Display the scene in OBS, Streamlabs, or Meld. | Active trial or subscription. Private; binds to the first device that opens it. Copy a fresh link for another device and do not post it publicly. |
| Studio scene preview | Build and interact with your scene, including any editing controls you asked AI to add. | Workspace membership; a subscription is not required for preview access. |
| Panel link | Sign in to your own account, select the scene’s workspace, and open it in Studio. Use the panel beneath the preview or select Panel to copy the link yourself for another screen. | Sign-in as a member of the same workspace. External commands also require an active trial or subscription. |
What needs a trial or subscription?
Free accounts receive 600 generation credits per month and new accounts receive a two-week live-deployment trial. Basic is $15/month and Pro is $30/month. Running a finished overlay does not consume generation credits.
Generation uses credits. Access to live deployment and external commands is a separate requirement.

| Activity | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Create or revise a scene or panel | Generation credits. |
| Use Studio previews, panels, or simulated events | Workspace membership. |
| Load a live Scene link in a broadcaster | Active trial or subscription. |
| Send Twitch actions or OBS / Streamlabs / Meld commands | Active trial or subscription, plus the required connection and permissions. |
| Invite team members | Workspace owner on Pro. |
Can I use aq.chat for OBS stinger transitions?
aq.chat live transitions are browser scenes, not native OBS Stinger video exports. To use a scene as a transition, the StreamUP Scene as Transition plugin requires OBS 28 or newer. Add the aq.chat Scene link as a Browser Source in a dedicated OBS scene, then select that scene in the plugin.
Review the third-party plugin’s installation instructions and compatibility before using it on a live broadcast.
